I Saw The Desert Change.

Of Love and Loss

There was a barren wasteland
scorched, dry, devoid of life

Harsh and unforgiving
beneath the deceptively soft surface

Too many seasons had passed
lifeless, joyless,

And then You

Familiar with the countryside
Embracing all that you saw

Settling into the dry soil
Comfortable in its warmth

Underground reservoirs bubbled up
Triggering sprouts of life
to scattered patches
where joy and energy returned

There is hope once more
For the landscape feels love
